The automotive landscape is witnessing a remarkable shift towards electric vehicles (EVs), driven by a growing recognition of the need for eco-friendly transportation options. This global movement towards sustainability has spurred many car manufacturers to invest heavily in EV development. Indonesia, boasting some of the world's largest nickel reserves, is poised to emerge as a significant player in this electric revolution.

With a strategic vision for the future, Indonesia's government has outlined an ambitious roadmap for EV development, aiming to produce 600 thousand four-wheeled EVs and 2.45 million electric two-wheelers by 2030. Recognizing the importance of infrastructure, the country has already begun investing in Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) and battery infrastructure to support the growing fleet of EVs.

In alignment with the National Energy General Plan (RUEN), Indonesia aims to produce 2,200 electric cars and 2.13 million electric motors by 2025, with projections indicating a substantial increase by 2030, with an estimated 2.19 million EVs and 13 million electric motors.
Moreover, Indonesia is actively transitioning its bus industry towards electrification, with three major players ready to produce up to 1,200 electric buses annually. This concerted effort underscores Indonesia's commitment to sustainable transportation and its aspirations to become a prominent hub for EV manufacturing and innovation
